What is Parkerizing?
Parkerizing (Phosphate coating) is a chemical conversion coating applied to steel and iron surfaces
It forma a layer of iron, manganese or zinc phosphate through a controlled chemical reaction in a phosphoric acid solution
It improves corrosion resistance, wear protection and provides an excellent base for paint or oil
Key Properties:
Corrosion Resistance: Provides good protection against rust when sealed with oil or paint
Surface Hardness: Increases wear resistance and surface durability of steel components
Non-Reflective Finish: Produces a matte grey to dark grey finish, ideal for both military and industrial parts
Adhesion: Offers excellent adhesion for paints, lubricants and other top coatings
Thickness: Very thin coating of around typically 5-15 microns that does not affect dimensional tolerances
Applications:
Automotive Industry ( Gears, fasteners, motor and engine components)
Machinery and Tools ( Bearings, shafts and cutting tools)
Aerospace ( Hardware, brackets and structural fittings)
Industrial Equipment ( Pipes, valves and machine housings)
Construction Hardware ( Bolts, hinges and steel fixtures)
